Twitter in Filipino is coming soon!

In January of this year, Forbes magazine cited Twitter reaching nearly 200 million registered accounts worldwide. This could also be the reason that the need to expand the social network site to several languages is now on-going.

Twitter just recently announced in a blog post that they have successfully launched the two new one hundred precent crowd-sourced languages – Dutch and Indonesian. This news up the total number of Twitter’s full translations to eleven languages.

“Mabuhay! Mengalu-alukan! We are happy to announce that Twitter Translation Center is now available for Filipino and Malay,” the 140-character social networking giant tweeted.

Twitter is such a popular networking site here in the Philipines specially nowadays that smartphones and data connections from local telcos are getting cheaper. It is also quite noticeable that Twitter has a huge Filipino users considering that a lot of Philippine-related news do always get a spot on Twitter Trending Topic.

Aside from the recently launched languages, Twitter can also be viewed in Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Korean, French, Russian, German, Japanese and English.
