A website of the Department of Education (DepEd) gets compromised again.

Anonymous Sultan Kudarat is back in the game by defacing the website of DepEd La Carlota City in Negros Occidental. The uploaded page just laughed at how the department secures its website.

The compromised DepEd La Carlota website does not seem to be the one maintained by the government as it does not use .gov.ph. This may have been commissioned as a standalone website for the agency. However, the domain registration was updated/renewed back in 2016 valid until October of this year suggesting that the agency was planning or planned in keeping it.

According to our source, Anonymous Sultan Kudarat managed to get a copy of the website’s database. When we pushed to get details about that database, the source kept mum and suggested to focus in informing the government about the security in this website.

We will communicate with DepEd La Carlota about this latest security incident. Should we get a feedback, we’ll update this article accordingly.
