After being criticized for causing inconveniences to its passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Christmas Day, local budget carrier Cebu Pacific Air allegedly apologized for the incident and announced a promo offering 1,000 flights to ‘lucky Juans’ online. The thing is, the announcement was made in an unofficial Facebook account and thousands of users fell for the said promo.

Cebu Pacific quickly denounced the said promo and advised consumers to be wary of the fake Facebook account who claimed to be posting on behalf of the carrier. Cebu Pacific’s official Facebook account is ‘Cebu Pacific Air’ while the one that posted the trending promo is ‘CEB Pacific.’

“Please beware of this Facebook page who claim to be Cebu Pacific Air. CEB promotions, news or announcements are only being posted on our official social networking sites,” the company posted on their official Facebook account.

While there’s no serious harm made to consumers (no virus or phishing found related to this hoax Facebook account), Cebu Pacific is taking legal actions against parties behind the fake account and vowed that they’ll coordinate with authorities to identify the perpetrators.
