Online reseller and auction site giant, eBay, recently unveiled this newest company logo after 17 years of existence.

Though the new logo looks like a simplified version of the original one, company officials said it reflects a “cleaner” and “more consistent” experience with eBay.

“The eBay logo is known the world over, so changing it was not a decision made lightly,” said eBay president Devin Wenig in a post on its site. “The time felt right. We’re incredibly proud of how eBay started and quickly grew into the world’s largest online marketplace. Auction-style listings, used goods, vintage items and quirky, one-of-a-kind finds are still a big part of what makes buying and selling on eBay special. We hope that’s always true. But we’ve evolved a lot in the past few years, and eBay is much more than auction-style listings today.”

The new company logo may not be that attractive and creative as some would put it but the company is yet to officially launch it not until October of this year. Aside from the recent change in its logo, eBay is also about to reveal some changes on the site itself. Per Wenig, eBay will become more personalized and will soon have more local and global features.
