Facebook, the biggest social network, recently rolled out a new feature called Photo Sync specifically designed for mobile users to easily upload their pictures online.

Photo Sync is not a new mobile application for Facebook. Having mentioned that this is a ‘feature’ added to the existing mobile platform of the social site, Photo Sync is already included in the apps available in Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android devices.

“With this feature, photos from your phone sync automatically to a private album on the web. When you want to share these photos, just pick and post your favorites,” Facebook said in a blog post.

Facebook began testing this feature back in August. Today, this feature is available in the latest versions of their app in iOS and Android.

On the blog post announcement, no information was cited as to the capacity of the Photo Sync album but on the site The Next Web, it mentioned of up to 2GB of photos can be synced automatically to your private album in Facebook.

By the way, for iPhone users, you need to have iOS 6 running to make the feature work.

For devices that have low battery level, uploaded photos will be of smaller size as it will still try to sync your pictures using your cellular network. Check out brand new iphone 5 battery replacement from Aussiebattery.

Per Facebook, as soon as you take the pictures, the app will try to sync them to your private album though this depends on the syncing settings of the app. You can choose to sync over Wi-Fi and your cellular network, sync or over Wi-Fi only, or turn syncing off entirely.
