Gr3ySh4DoW is back in the news as he defaced another government website. After the attack that he did to Occidental Mindoro’s provincial council website, the hacker went on to another domain under a local government unit down south – Bislig City in Surigao Del Sur.

The domain, bislig.net, does not seem to be under the government as it does not carry the usual .gov suffix but the subdomains that it carries are associated with their local government offices. We’re not sure though if the national government has a policy requiring all government-related websites to register under a .gov suffix nor if they have a centralized office that handles all these websites.

Note that the official website of the city, bislig.gov.ph, does not seem to be affected.

Among those that were defaced by Gr3ySh4DoW are Bislig City’s Department of Education (DepEd) website and their City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO).

The main page is already down as of this writing but the defacements made to the subdomains of DepEd and CCDO are still up.

We’ll reach out to the city government of Bislig to get their statement on this.
