Businessmen and those aspiring to be one are expected to gather in what is dubbed as “Asia’s Biggest International Franchise Conference” this coming March 27-28, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. Franchise Asia Philippines 2019 has invited more than 70 speakers to grace the event. Expo visitors are expected to be more than 53,000.

This could’ve been a usual business event except for the fact that a hacker compromised its website yesterday. Sanji of the hacking group Philippine CyberSecurity owned the attack.

The website of the Franchise Asia Philippines 2019 carries multiple pages including the registration site of the expected 53,000 expo visitors. This incident could be disastrous if hackers got hold of the personal information of those who have signed up. However, Sanji did not mention if he did more than just defacing the website but this should alert the IT people behind the website to strengthen its security measures.

We will contact the Philippine Franchise Association, the organizer of the event, to inform them of this latest security incident.
