To expand the growing number of mobile internet users, the country’s two giant telecom companies released a Java application that will enable low cost phones to access their Facebook accounts on-the-go.

Facebook, being the widely used social networking site in the Philippines, can now be access for free until October 31, 2011 using Smart and Globe’s Java applications. The service will empower non-smartphones users to go online to post status, send a message, comment, like or check their friends’s status on Facebook.

For Smart subscribers, download the Java app by texting FB to 211. Globe users, on the other hand, just have to text FB to 2910.

Download now and experience Facebook on-the-go for FREE!
