Smart Communications has finally confirmed that the network will also release the much anticipated iPhone 4S now that their website accepts registration. The online Apple iPhone 4S registration form has been up since Friday, December 3, 2011 but the site has yet to announce pricing details. The good news, unlike its competitor, Smart announced the release date of the gadget – December 16, 2011.

iPhone 4S’s Siri, as per a Smart representative, will function properly in the Philippines clearing all speculations that this compelling feature will not work outside US.

Globe Telecom was the first to offer the Apple-branded smartphone. After losing its exclusive rights to distribute iPhone, Smart subscribers will finally enjoy the iPhone experience. Surprisingly, Sun Cellular, another Manny Pangilinan-led mobile network brand, is expected to carry iPhone 4S soon.

With this move, will Smart regain its crown as the network with the most number of postpaid subscriptions?

“When this happens, this will make us the undisputed leader in postpaid subscriptions,” PLDT Board Member and TV5 President Ray C. Espinosa said.
