McAfee, one of the popular antivirus software, will soon be known as Intel Security. Announced at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 today by Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, the move to rebrand McAfee will most likely be completed within a year.
According to the announcement, the name Intel Security will be introduced to the public on the next release of the new versions of their McAfee products. There will be new products as well that will carry the same brand as the company plans to offer security solutions for mobile devices which will include data and device protection.
Though there will be a rebranding, Intel won’t be changing its security logo. The company will still use the red shield people have been familiar with McAfee. Intel said in the reports that this red shiel represents “the core values of security and protection”.
It was in August 2010 when Intel announced its plans of acquiring McAfee for $7.7 billion in cash.
