Effectively Promote your Brand through Podcast Advertising

Whoever said radio is a thing of the past is missing how the new technologies changed the game in the air waves. People might be more attracted to TV, print media and the Internet but radio still has a big junk of percentage in terms of loyal listeners. As a matter of fact, radio streaming is now a popular thing on younger generations.

Having said that, radio and podcast advertising still play a bigger role in the advertising industry. Radio has a market that your brand needs to reach. Don’t just ignore them, reach out. Do something to make sure that you cover all the markets and expose your brand.

Though most of the old fashioned mobile phones have built-in radio features, Internet-capable smartphones have radio apps that people of this generation enjoys to listen to. Radio podcast is now also available for downloads online so people can listen to them anytime thus expanding your audience reach.

Podcast advertising and other form of radio marketing are still effective means of exposing campaigns for your brand. Just make sure though that the advertising agency that handles your campaign, like on any other medium, can really deliver what your campaign needs to reach.

Lessons Learned from Big Bad Blogger

This post is in relation to Big Bad Blogger. Well, for those who were not yet aware of it, BBB is Pinoy blogosphere’s talk of the town. Everyone’s guessing who is BBB, the food blogger who was featured in a blind item article of Margaux Salcedo published in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

I won’t guess who the hell is Big Bad Blogger for I really don’t have any idea. But for this post, I’m taking my side on the effect of this news to bloggers who are accepting paid advertisements on their blogs.

I, for instance, rely on paid blog posts to continuously update this blog. I rarely post personal stories other than travel adventures and other product or service recommendations and rants.

I don’t see anything wrong with paid blog posts. But what I learned from my fellow bloggers discussing about this Big Bad Blogger made me realized one thing – that there are bloggers out there who are going to blog just to blackmail and force others to get them paid.

This is the sad part of paid blog posts. Bloggers became evil just to get paid. Whatever happened to their integrity? Credibility? Passion?

I hope we could all learn our lessons in this one. Remember that we can always accept paid posts but never force anyone to get you blog their services and/or products. Never use your blog for this kind of evil practices online. It just ruins the very essence of a blog – to write with passion and to express your personal points of view.

If you will be asked to review something for them in exchange of any form of payment – money, loot bags, etc., be sure to be honest on your review. You can always stay in positive side in reviewing their services, right? Cite all the good things first then include constructive criticisms to which they could improve with. I don’t think they would take it negatively so long as you wrote it on a neutral tone.
