Philippines is one of the world’s top destinations for business process outsourcing (BPO) firms. This 2014, the country is expecting for this industry to generate 124,000 new jobs.
BPO giants Accenture and Convergys lead the 36 biggest companies revealed by Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo based on their 2012 revenues. Accenture had P28.104 billion followed by Convergys with P17.281 billion. Both companies have more than 35,000 employees each in the country.
Other popular BPO companies who made it to the list are JPMorgan Chase, 24/7 Customer Philippines, TeleTech, Sitel, Deutsche, Sykes, IBM, Aegis, HSBC and Telus.
BPO jobs range from call center posts to back office and Information Technology (IT).
The 36 firms had a combined revenue of P192 billion in 2012 alone.
