I was trying to access links in my news feed to read interesting articles when I noticed that I’m always getting the “Sorry, something went wrong.” notification of Facebook. I initially thought it has something to do with my data connection but when I checked my email, there’s no connection error at all.
Then I took a screenshot of the error and tried to post it in Facebook. Still, there’s the error message. Because I can’t stand the fact that I can’t access my Facebook account, I checked Twitter and found out that the social network is down.
Facebook is down for less than an hour, I guess. It’s now up but looking at the posts in Instagram and Twitter, you’ll see that everyone’s going crazy with the news. Almost everyone, who happens to be online when the site went down, is affected. As expected, the hashtag #facebookdown trended in Twitter in less than 30 minutes.
But, what really caused the social network to shutdown? As of this writing, no official statement yet from the Internet giant but we’ll keep you posted once they’ve released one. So, stay tuned!
