Now that a week has passed since Apple debuted its latest iPhone ventures—the iPhone 5s and 5c—we are slowly learning more discernible differences between the two gadgets. You may already know which version of the newest iPhone you want; however, before you run to your nearest Apple store or retailer, check out what each phone has to offer. Here’s a quick list of how the iPhone 5s and 5c rate.
Camera
The iPhone 5s improves the smartphone camera experience enough to make one of the foremost selling points of this device. With its True Tone flash, the 5s offers flash photography that surpasses that of the 5c. Besides the flash, the 5s camera sensor and lens assembly is much better, and, due to the processor, the autofocus and shutter activation is faster. When it comes to video, the iPhone 5s delivers stellar slow-motion video and burst mode, which is worth shelling out more money for the 5s if you’re into photography, particularly on your mobile device.
Monetary Value
For the money, Apple’s iPhone 5c is a quality device and is $100 cheaper than its 5s counterpart. Essentially, the 5c can perform most of the same functions that the 5s can. Besides, the camera and video features, the 5s has a secret payload, which is built-in to the A7 system-on-a-chip and M7 motion coprocessor. Both also come with the latest OS from Apple, including the popular AirDrop, which is a great file sharing system, however, unlike universal file sharing systems like Sharefile, AirDrop only allows you to share files between your iOS device an Mac. Basically, if you’re currently happy with your iPhone 5, 4S, or 4 but are looking for a change or have an upgrade due and aren’t overly concerned with being cutting edge, then save your money and go with the 5c.
Aesthetics
While aesthetics haven’t always played a role in choosing an iPhone, the colorful 5c is the prettiest iPhone of the bunch. The 5s, however, is made of aluminum and is available in gold, space gray, and sliver, which can be more appealing to those who have a thing for shiny, new tech toys. The 5s is also the lightest of the iPhones, including the glass and stainless steel iPhone 4s. Although the new colors for the iPhone 5c are unique and fun, not everyone is a going to be a fan of the light, pastel colors that this device comes in. With a screen larger than the 4s, the iPhone 5c and 5s both feature displays that are smaller than their Android counterparts, but are the same on both phones. In addition, both iPhones have the same sharp Retina Displays (326 pixels per inch).
