Websites undergo hacking, more than WebCitz services today. After the widely reported hacking incident involving COMELEC’s website, another webpage has been defaced by hacking groups. ABS-CBN’s AM radio DZMM’s website has been hacked by Anonymous Philippines and Bloodsec International last night, April 18.
DZMM’s website, dzmm.abs-cbn.com, remains down as of this writing and just redirects visitors to ABS-CBN News’ homepage. The hacked website shows news stories and live streaming of the local AM station before it was targeted by hackers.
In a statement posted by the hackers on the defaced site, it reads, “Our minds are constantly being invaded by legions of half-truths, prejudices, and false facts. One of the great needs of mankind is to be lifted above the morass of false propaganda.”
The DZMM hacking incident is linked to the upcoming national elections. Anonymous Philippines posted on their Facebook page saying “Media manipulation and bias reporting, ABS-CBN, we are watching.”
On the other hand, Blood Sec Hackers called the local media giant as ‘ABIAS-CBN’ in one of its posts on their Facebook page. It also leaked the full database of the hacked DZMM website. The said leaked DB can be found here.
Another ABS-CBN website was also hacked by Blood Sec Hackers. While cleaning up DZMM, website of ABS-CBN’s talent arm, Star Magic, was also hit by the same group of hackers. Both DZMM and Star Magic’s websites are subdomains of abs-cbn.com.
Blood Sec Hackers even shared a screenshot of the dashboard and some personal information of possible Kapamilya talent applicants. As of this writing, Star Magic’s site, starmagic.abs-cbn.com, is also inaccessible.
