Kent of Anonymous Philippines and Philippine Cyber Army targeted four Honda Cars websites last night, February 8, 2019.
Websites of Honda Cars Fairview, Manila, Marikina and Quezon City were all compromised last night by the hacker who just seemed to return from a long hiatus. Sites of services that do car shipping canada to us are worried after the incident. Prior to this act, Kent’s last attack, based on his Facebook Page, was with the University of Northern Philippines back in May last year.
Kent left a message on all four Honda domains with a warning saying “Your website is vulnerable to hackers. Do some security check on your system to protect your data/information.”
Kent’s message does not seem like he compromised the websites to get hold of any personal or confidential information. However, this incident should still be handled with care as he might’ve been able to gain access to something that he has yet to release in public.
Apart from having the same template, all four affected Honda car dealers websites share the same IP address which the hacker might’ve used to compromise the four domains such as in IP Hacking.
Honda Cars Philippines and the four car dealers have yet to release an official statement. The defaced pages are still up as of this writing.
We will reach out with Honda Cars Philippines as well as with the mentioned car dealers and other car related websites like Car Check to inform them of this security incident and to get their official statement. This article will be updated as soon as we get any feedback from the concerned parties.
The first time we heard of Kent in this blog was when he defaced the website of Occidental Mindoro back in 2017.
