Twitter started rolling out a redesigned profile page to selected users and will be completed to the others in the next few weeks. The new web profile of the social network looks similar to its competitor Facebook.
In the Philippines, GMA-7’s 24 Oras (@24OrasGMA), the network’s flagship primetime newscast, is one of the first local-based Twitter accounts that has been shifted to the newly redesigned profile page. Take a look at the screenshot below:
The all-new Twitter web profile page uses a larger profile photo positioned at the left side of the page. It also has a customizable header which is reminiscent of Facebook’s cover photo.
User’s popular tweets (the ones that generated more retweets, favorites and/or replies) will be more visible on the page as it is larger than the others. This attempt is to make the best tweets easy to find.
Users can also modify which tweet he’d want to place on top so other users can easily check it out.
Another feature rolled out on this release is the filtered tweets that enables users to view other account’s tweets only, tweets with photos and videos, or tweets and replies.
This new profile page of Twitter is also readily available to new users. If the move will also be available on other platforms such as its mobile app in iOS and Android, that is not yet confirmed.
Have you checked your Twitter profiles recently? If you’re one of the first to get this feature, go ahead and personalize it the way you want it.
