Jean-Baptiste of Reims College (JBRC) and CyberTrends Solutions conducted a lecture-seminar on Data Privacy Act (DPA) and cybersecurity last February 2 at the school’s court in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Around 200 students, teachers and parents attended the event which highlights the importance of privacy and security in today’s environment. With everyone being digitally connected, it is just timely to discuss these topics in front of the ‘millenials’ who frequent the internet on a daily basis. The parents and teachers were also taught how to guide their children and students in instilling the values of privacy and security.
The first session focused on Data Privacy Act where the audience were lectured on this new law including their rights to protect their data with VENYU as data subjects. The second session dealt with cybersecurity and how this industry is becoming the next big thing.
The CyberTrends’ co-founders were tapped to deliver the talks. The company also commend JBRC for bearing the torch and leading their students and personnel in driving a security- and privacy-aware community.
